Christmas Time Woes

First off, I would like to say Merry Christmas to my tens of dedicated readers (if I have that many), and a Happy Boxing Day. In all honesty, though, I have no idea what Boxing Day is for, so you can scratch that last comment. Please note that these next few paragraphs have me going on about my Christmas experience, skip if you wish, it sounds very whiny, even I admit it is.

I have learnt that during the Christmas period, the days leading up to and following Christmas Day are very, very hectic. Traffic seems to be a huge problem on our highways. According to what I heard on radio and struggling family relatives, there was a line of cars on the BRIDGE to the fish market. At 5AM in the morning. Traffic during Christmas was so bad that people were lining up to find a parking space, THEN actually go out and their seafood. At 5AM in the morning!! I must say, my heart goes out to the poor people who parked, got what they wanted and then forgot where they had parked in the first place.

However, I have learnt that there are worse things out there than terrible early morning traffic: internet traffic!! During the days leading up to Christmas, our internet connection was turning on and off like a faucet and my mum being the quick-to-judge person that she is, blames me for the connection completely cutting off on Christmas Eve and Day. It didn't really matter on the 24th though: the internet connection was so slow that our browser wouldn't even open onto Hotmail, Yahoo! or facebook.

On Christmas Day, it all started off nicely where we exchanged presents (my mum waiting till the next day to open her presents: it is her tradition to open her presents on Boxing Day) and ate last night's very nice European dinner. Unfortunately, the combination of no internet, warm weather and me having to do the lunch dishes when guests were over made me very, and I italicise, very, pissed off, I'm suprised I didn't start leaking blood out of a bodily exit way! My way of chucking a tantrum was to put on a sour face, hole myself up in my room and rage my sisters who were being very diplomatic. After cooling down and having a nap (which I first refused), I gorged on some ice-cream an hour before dinner and found the internet to be working again! Hurrah! And thus, after a few hours, I lazed about again, watched 'Ever After' on TV and my Christmas Day ended, the ice-cream becoming the equivalent of my dinner.

I have to admit, typing this up makes me feel like a very disturbed child, I must take anger management classes (hmm...).

Before I finish this, I just want to leave you guys with this: The World of Golden Eggs!! Google it, it's a Japanese series about the randomest things. I found it funny, you might too. Hayato's brother Tsubasa showed me this while I was in Japan, and I am very grateful to him for showing me this, I personally find it hilarious! And if you watch the one I first watched, I'm sure you will be asking the same question I was after watching it: "Who is Ando?!"
