Partying "hard" and popping wheelies

Before I begin ranting and somewhat raving about my past few days, I have noticed that, although I speak next to no Tagalog (Filipino-speak) and understand very little, I still use it nearly everyday. So to clarify any words I might accidentally use that you may not understand...(say these phonetically, kinda like Jap.)

Ate (a-te, not ate) - Basically means big sister. This title doesn't have to be used for your ACTUAL sister. It is also used for older female cousins. While there are other titles after Ate, I won't mention them as they are seldom used.
Kuya - Same thing as Ate, but for guys. Same deal. Big brother/cousin.
Tito - Uncle
Tita - Aunt
Lola - Grandmother
Lolo - Grandmother
And just to add to your vocabulary of random words if you wish...
Salamat - Thank you
Pagkain (pag-ka-in) - Food

I don't use the words for mum and dad, I use English there, so I won't put those in. Anyway, on with 'recent news'.

This Wednesday, I went to Sopana's (is that spelt right?) party at his house. Lucky me, I was the first one there at about 10am. After helping set up, some more friends of Sopana's came: Pauline and Melissa. After a few very fast then very slow game of table tennis, we headed inside and played Monopoly (my first time. Sad, I know). After another while, more people came and Sopana got the Wii started with Super Mario Smash Bros. Brawl (gooo Zelda & Sheik!!). After an hour or more of Wii and Monopoly, lunch was ready. By now though, the weather's temperature decided to peak and the array of bbq'ed food seemed less appealing.

The worst part about the whole thing was that they (Sopana's family) decided to leave the drinks out. Outside of the house. On a table. In 30+ degree heat. And rising. I was thinking, "Why not just shake the bottles abnd make the drinks flat too?". The saving grace to that was the ice from the eski which housed a single Solo Lemon Lime bottle (it was the only one that fit with so much ice inside). More people arrived during lunch, keeping the guest list packing at over 20 people. And oddly enough, I didn't know any of them, save Sopana. But I got along with most of them. After lunch, a rousing game of Sing Star was played (I am an amateur), which was soon followed by another round SMSBB.

The real games began after, however, as Sopana organized teams and competitions of Big Brain Academy, SingStar, SMSBB and WiiFit. Teams 2 and 3 tied for first place (yeah!!!). After this, some pros flocked to the piano, some pieces including Flight of the Bumblebee, Ronda alla Turca and the good old Entertainer. There were more played, though I do not know their names. Others played SingStar a bit longer, followed by others who played the WiiFit. As more and more people began to leave, the last game I was to participate in before leaving was Cluedo (another first for me). Though I was only bale to have three turns, it was a fun game.

I was apprehensive (now there's a word I don't say often) of how the party would turn out, but it was all good, and very fun. I was able to make friends with a whole new set of people, and you, yooou, you know who you are, Sopana was VERY disappointed you didn't go.

After this very rousing day, not much else happened. Quite a boring week so far other than changing my profile a bit on Facebook with an internet connection that goes at different speeds (yes, I'm still talking about it).

Today was somewhat interesting, though. After driving with my dad to go to the Lurnea tennis courts, finding out you now had to book a session to use them and trying and failing to practice tennis in the grassy park nearby, we decided to retire home. Only to find after 20 seconds of driving that a screw had punctured a rear tyre and has caused it to go flat. Joy. As I helped my dad replace the flat tyre, he taught me the hows, whats and other questioning verbs used to know about changing tyres, etcetera. Once fixed and on the road home, we stopped by the nearby gas station to have the flat tyre re pumped (the screw wasn't taken out) and the other tyres pumped as well. The rest is bland history.

Since my mum seems to have set a computer-curfew on me, I must now bid you readers adieu.
