End of exams, hurrah! Could have posted sooner, but I was spacing out on my bed last weekend. Lost a quarter of a mark yesterday in speaking exam cause I used the WRONG particle D<. Oh well, I'm not perfect. Getting back the results for my exams is probably the hardest part. I mean, hey, no one likes to think that they tried their hardest in an exam and they end up getting a lower than expected mark. I've already gotten History, Japanese and Math back. Can't say I'm happy about History and Math results. I KNOW I could have done better. People say that my marks are okay because I did better than they did, but that's beside the point. I went into the exam trying to get a solid 80+ mark, but fell short of my expectations on both counts. I can only hope that this experience has prepared me for the Yearlies and that I will more thoroughly prepare for them, and School Cert. Japanese I got...97% I think? Somewhere above 95% overall, so that's very good. I'm still aiming for that 100% overall mark, so I just have to keep going at it: it's not as easy as it was in 7&8 seeing as how there's a whole lot more that you NEED to remember. Athletics Carnival on the first day of winter. I went into 100m, high jump and long jump. I would've done javelin but I missed the opportunity, but I doubt I would have done well anyway. Stacked it in the first event for high jump caused it had rained a bit before and I was wearing flat-soled shoes. Not a good choice, so the event was postponed to later in the day when the ground dried up. I came 3rd (out of 4 people XD) in the 100m and got 297cm for long jump (which isn't very far considering a guy got 500cm+). All I can say is that although I pretty much suck when it comes to Athletics, I try the sport for the fun of it and team spirit. In between, I was basically playing cards, walked by myself and friends on separate occasions. SOMEONE got the idea to tell Courtney and Steven to stop fooling around over the PA. Brendan and Lizzie were told to stop messing around on the benches later on (payback perhaps?). Drizzly day relays at the end. There was more stuff done on the day (like picking at the synth track with Richard), but I can't remember it all...it was a fun day. I couldn't make it to bannofe party afterward because dad picked me up with groceries in the car that HAD to get home first, so I wouldn't have had time to properly enjoy myself there. It was the start of the school week too so I couldn't stay long either. Basically, it's been raining and fairly cold over the past couple of days. It's a short week since there was athletics on Monday and SDD on Friday, and that's why I'm blogging right now. I cleaned out my room with my dad and played a game or two. Subjection Selections were held last night. The DET speaker was very eloquent and fun to listen to, but then some people might beg to differ. I am now trying to figure out my last 2 units and reserves. Unless I have a HUGE parent intervention, my choices are:
EDIT - These are my definite subject selections unless I decide to drop in the first few weeks.
- Adv Math
- Adv English
- Economics
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Japanese Continuers (duh)
We'll see how it goes. I'll talk to you all later!

Don't worry about your marks, even if you didn't get 80%, it's only half yearlies, and now you know what you need to study more next time. xD
